With apologies to my vegetarian friends and relations

grinchy roast beast

Like the Who’s down in Whoville, we are having “Roast Beast” for Christmas dinner tonight, rather than the usual turkey. Our decision was inspired by our favourite Christmas story, How The Grinch Stole Christmas (1957) by the man himself, Dr. Seuss. We love The Grinch so much, we simply do not say “roast beef” in our house. It is officially called “The Beast”.

Thank goodness my mother is a good cook–I have no clue how to tackle The Beast (Thanks Mom!). I will be on hand refreshing her glass of wine and providing emotional support throughout the cooking process.

Wishing you and yours a very happy and hearty Christmas dinner!
