“Much is to be gained by eBooks: ease, convenience, portability. But something is definitely lost: tradition, a sensual experience, the comfort of thingy-ness — a little bit of humanity.”
~Chip Kidd, Associate Art Director, Knopf
Do you judge a book by its cover?
I will admit that I do.
That’s why it’s so interesting to read more about the people who create the art for the books we read.
Chip Kidd is one of the best in the business. In his engaging TEDTalk, Kidd describes the process of book design as giving form to content. He starts with the evocative question: “What do the stories look like?”
