No one relaxes in March

“Indoors or out, no one relaxes in March, that month of wind and taxes.” ~Ogden Nash

This vintage poster has it right: Escape March madness by escaping into a few good books. Red scarf and chic dress nice, but not required.

This poster was released in March 1941 by the US government to promote libraries and literacy, and I’m sharing it here from the Work Projects Administration (WPA) Poster Collection (Library of Congress. The WPA was the US government’s first program to support the arts. More than 2000 posters were designed to publicize exhibits, community activities, theatrical productions, and health and educational programs.

Happy Weekend–and here’s hoping for a warm March break!
