Rain
Woke up this morning with
a terrific urge to lie in bed all day
and read. Fought against it for a minute. Then looked out the window at the rain.
And gave over. Put myself entirely
in the keep of this rainy morning.Would I live my life over again?
Make the same unforgivable mistakes?
Yes, given half a chance. Yes.”~Raymond Carver

Love the poem and thanks for the link to a delightful website. 🙂
I was very taken by the poem as well, glad you enjoyed it!
Love it – top of my to-do list!!! Roll on winter in the southern hemisphere..
Hello! I look forward to reading about your winter experiences. (I am so ready for spring…we’ve had a really long and difficult winter here.)
Mmm, I know that feeling of wanting to curl up under the covers and read the day away!
It’s one of the great joys in life isn’t it? And I think Carver really captures it here. Happy reading!
It never rains here in Colorado 😦 Hard to read the day away when the sun is always shining. I love that poem, the ending particularly.
True, too much of a good thing can be oppressive. We have lots of rain and snow here in Ottawa, I can send you some! I only just discovered the poem…it is
very lovely and heart-breaking at the same time considering that he died so young…
I love to read and get lost in a book 🙂

What a wonderful sketch! Thanks so much for sharing this, and congrats!
